Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. Biles is thought of to be one of the greatest gymnasts. Biles was the very first American female gymnast in history to win four gold medals at one Games. Then, in Rio de Janeiro, she was also the first woman to win consecutive World All-around titles (2013-15). Biles lived in Spring Texas in the Houston metro area, where she and her younger sister Adria had been adopted by grandparents Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone first became interested in gymnastics when she was six. Her instructor Aimee Borman took her to Bannon's Gymnastix which was where they went to a field trip. Biles won the vault and floor exercises at the 2010 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships before moving up to the highest level of competition in 2011. She dominated her sport within a mere two years. Her consistency, her vivacious nature and high degree of challenge in her four events -- vault uneven bars, floor exercise, vault uneven bars balance beam floor exercise and floor exercise -- made her apart.
