Alison Krauss was born July 23, 1971, in the city of Decatur, Illinois. Alison Krauss and LeAnn Kymes were the two newest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss - born July 23rd 1971 - is an American bluegrass and country singer. She started working in the world of music at a very young age. At the age 10 years old, she took part in local contests and recorded her first album. The year 1985 saw her signing by Rounder Records. Her first solo album debuted in 1987. She was asked to join Alison Krauss & Union Station with whom she performs.
